Judithann Sorensen Obituary

Judithann E. (Sanville) Sorensen, 73, a resident of Tolland for over 42 years, died late Tuesday afternoon, Oct. 19, 2010, at Manchester Memorial Hospital.

She was born and educated in Littleton, N.H., a daughter of the late Armand and Lydia (Perkins) Sanville. Judithann was the former owner and operator for over 25 years of the Dependable Cleaning Co. located in the tri-town area until she retired in 1999. She was also employed for several years at the Journal Inquirer of Manchester. Judithann will be remembered for the many years she volunteered at the Children's Hospital, Shriner's Hospital, and the local nursing homes where she handed out hundreds of magic bears dressed as a clown. She even recently was actively involved in charity work at Winding River Village where she resided. Judithann was a communicant of St. Bernard Church in Rockville.

She is survived by her loving daughter, Solveig E. Sorensen, and her fiancé, Scott Greenwood, of Norfolk, Va.; a brother, Robert Sanville, and his wife, Claudette, of Marlborough; as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was the sister of the late William Sanville and Lucille Little.

Her funeral will be held on Saturday, Oct. 23, at 10 a.m. from the Ladd-Turkington and Carmon Funeral Home, 551 Talcottville Road (Route 83), followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11:30 a.m. at St. Bernard Church, 25 St. Bernard Terrace, with burial to conclude in St. Bernard Cemetery in Rockville.
