Lillian Zaccaro Obituary

Lillian (Emonds) Zaccaro, 90, of Broad Brook, loving wife of the late William J. Zaccaro, entered into eternal rest Saturday, Jan. 12, 2019, in the comfort of her home surrounded by her loving family.

Lillian was born April 8, 1928, in Hartford, the daughter of the late John and Mary (Flamio) Emonds. Lillian previously lived in Enfield for 53 years prior to moving to Broad Brook in 2008. She was a devout Catholic and faithful parishioner of Holy Family Church. Lillian enjoyed cooking, gardening, sewing, and traveling, but cherished time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by four children, Jack Zaccaro and his wife, Kathy of South Windsor, Karen Lillis and her husband, John, of Suffield, Lorrie Tarascio of Broad Brook, and Lynn Scavotto and her husband, Mark, of Somers; her six grandchildren, Sarah Lillis, Jennifer Sullivan, Allison Marra, Ashley Cabrera, Lyndsay Zaczynski, and Nicholas Scavotto; her nine great-grandchildren, Gianna, Ava, Jenna, Rocco, Scarlett, Owen, Caden, Isabella, and Mason; a brother, Joseph Emonds of Enfield; and several nieces and nephews. Lillian was predeceased by two sisters, Rosemary Fleeher and Clara Sanzo.

Lillian's family would like to thank Kristie with Trinity Health of New England at Home for her wonderful and compassionate care.

Relatives and friends are welcome to join the family Tuesday, Jan. 15, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels, 61 South Road, Enfield.

A funeral procession will gather Wednesday, Jan. 16, at 9:30 a.m. at the funeral home for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Family Church. Lillian will be laid to rest beside her husband, William, in St. Patrick King Street Cemetery.
