Margaret Coltey Obituary

On Saturday, April 6, 2013, Margaret (Peggy) Fillmore Coltey left this earth to join her husband and two sons in Heaven.

She was born on Dec. 21, 1935, to Harry and Mildred (Douglas) Fillmore in Middletown. She married Maurice (Rick) Coltey at the age of 15, and together raised four sons. She was predeceased by her husband and sons, Michael and Scott, and sister, Arline. She is survived by her son, Maurice (Rick), and his wife, Vivian, of Manchester; son, Daniel of Vernon; grandchildren, Kimberly, Natalie, Damien, Amanda, Jennifer, and Cassy; nine great-grandchildren; and her niece, Patty. She also leaves behind her lifelong friend, Joan Davis of Vernon.

Graveside services will be held on April 17 at 11 a.m. in East Cemetery in Manchester, where her ashes will be joined with Rick's and they will be laid to rest together. A gathering will be immediately following at the British American Club, 73 Maple St., Manchester.

Memorial donations can be made in her name to Masonicare Partners Hospice, 111 Founders Plaza, Suite 200, East Hartford, CT 06108.

To Dan Coltey, Amanda Coltey,Jennifer Owens,Cassy Griswold, and Family, it was an honor to have met your mother, and grandmother and sharing some happy moments with her. My condolences to all of you, you are in my thoughts and prayers. Dan, on April 6 of this year God was picking plants for his garden and he needed a rose, I guess he picked the most beautiful flower of the day when he chose Margaret, be strong my brother.
