Michael "Mickey" Burrows was born on August 7th, 1948 in East Randolph, Vermont to Ernest and Dorothy Burrows, the third out of seven siblings. The family moved to Windsor Locks, Connecticut before Mickey enlisted in the U.S. Marines and served in two tours during the Vietnam War. After sustaining an injury during that time, he refined his mechanical skills by working on military equipment. That experience formed the basis of his trade when he returned home.
While working at a military base in North Carolina, Mickey met Maria Burrows who would become his wife of over half a century. Together, they settled in Enfield, Connecticut where their home was always open to family and friends. Mickey always did his best to ensure that everyone in his circle had something serviceable to drive - though he inflicted some eyesores on the road in the process.
Mickey loved nothing more than taking trips in his RV - especially when his children and grandkids came along. He also loved fishing, rooting for his grandsons at sporting events, working in his garden, and Yankee Candles. He was a die-hard fan of Disney movies and UConn women's basketball, and he had a seemingly supernatural affinity for all animals and plants, including his pet of twelve years named Mydog. Anyone who ever looked up to Mickey will remember him for his signature farewell: "You behave, now."
Mickey was preceded in death by his parents Ernest and Dorothy and his eldest child, Jay, a sister Shari and a brother Barry. He is survived by his wife Maria, his children Michelle, Jarren, and Traci, their spouses Kim, Jason, and Chelsea, and his grandchildren Michael, Jamie, Jameson, Jaxon, and Charlotte, along with his sisters Judi, Lana, Kim, and Debbie along with many nieces and nephews, and many dear friends.
