Myles J. O'Reilly Jr.

Myles J. O'Reilly Jr., 83, of Manchester, and formerly of South Windsor, beloved husband of 58 years to Barbara Boynton O'Reilly, passed away Friday, Sept. 8, 2017, surrounded by his loving family after a long battle with Alzheimer's.

He was born May 2, 1934, in Hartford to the late Myles and Violet (Molumphy) O'Reilly. Myles served four years in the U.S. Marine Corps. He worked at Stanadyne and Northeast Utilities before retiring. He enjoyed spending time with his family, golfing, camping, reading Western novels, traveling and UConn basketball.

In addition to his wife, he leaves his three children and their families, Michael and Carol O'Reilly. Karen and Henry Zethner, and Susan O'Reilly; four grandchildren, Genesis Powers and husband, Christopher; Braden Zethner and fiancée, Gwendolyn Toti, Sean O'Reilly and significant other, Karolina Buczek, Nicole Otto; and three great-grandchildren: Caiden Zethner, Angelina Zethner, and Tenzin Powers. Myles also leaves behind four siblings and their families, John and Ina O'Reilly, Violet and Thomas Winkler, Kathleen and Guy LaPlante, and Elizabeth Winther; brother-in-law, John Anderson; and many nieces and nephews. Myles was predeceased by his sister, Patricia Anderson; and brother-in-law, Mark Winther.

There are no calling hours. The burial will be private at the convenience of the family.

The family would like to thank the staffs at both Village at Buckland Court in South Windsor and ECHN Woodlake at Tolland for his care over the past six-plus years.
