Nancy Newcomb Obituary
Born in Hartford, the daughter of the late Walter and Barbara (Bartlett) Newcomb, she grew up in Vernon and has lived in Vernon for most of her life. She was a graduate of Rockville High School, Class of 1977 and was a graduate of Manchester Community College. Nancy earned her undergraduate degree from Eastern Connecticut State University. Prior to her retirement in 2021, Nancy was a Medical Technician at Backus Hospital for 14 years, and she was previously employed at Rockville General Hospital and Windham Hospital. She enjoyed reading and was an avid knitter, and quilter. Nancy also liked crocheting and needlepoint.
She is survived by her two brothers, Wayne and Joel Newcomb both of Stafford Springs; and several cousins and dear friends.
Her family will receive friends for calling hours on Thursday, April 21, 2022, from 10 to 11 a.m. followed by a funeral service beginning at 11 a.m. at the Ladd-Turkington & Carmon Funeral Home, 551 Talcottville Road (Route 83), Vernon. Burial will follow in Buckland Cemetery in Manchester.
Memorial donations in Nancy's memory may be made to the American Cancer Society, 825 Brook St., I-91 Tech Ctr., Rocky Hill, CT 06067 or to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, CT Westchester Hudson Valley Chapter, 3 Landmark Square, Suite 330, Stamford, CT 06901.
