Neil Brooks Obituary
Neil H. Brooks, 82, a lifelong resident of Vernon, beloved husband of 58 years to Sandi (Silverman) Brooks, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, November 27, 2024. He was born on November 17, 1942, in Manchester, CT, one of two children to the late Abner and Lenore (Forstadt) Brooks.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son David and his wife Jen and his treasured granddaughter, Emma. He was predeceased by his sister, Rhona Kristan.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 3, 2024, beginning at 11 a.m. at the Beth Shalom B'nai Israel Synagogue, 400 Middle Turnpike E., Manchester, CT. Based on the wishes of the family, the burial will be conducted privately in the Congregation B'nai Israel section of Beth Olam Cemetery, South Windsor, CT. For guests unable to attend, the funeral service will be recorded and posted to the funeral home website later that afternoon. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the charity of the donor's choice. Dear Sandi, We were deeply saddened to get your email about Neil's passing. I remember so many happy family occassions. He was such a good and caring man. He was always there - competent, ready to help and ready with a joke. His sense of humor was always amusing, occassionally pushing the boundaries - fun. He clearly loved his family, as well as his many friends. Please know we are thinking of you and David, Jennifer and Emma at this trying time.
