Paul L. Buettner

Paul L. Buettner of Manchester, born July 9, 1953, passed away peacefully, with his family by his side on July 26, 2022, due to complications from heart disease.

He was the son of the late Paul and Agnes (Sesselman) Buettner. Paul graduated from Manchester High School and went directly into the U.S. Marines and was honorably discharged. He worked for many years at his family's business Paul Buettner Florist, managing stores in Ellington and Hartford. After leaving there, he worked at Coca-Cola in East Hartford before being forced to retire due to heart ailments. Paul loved dogs. His first, Leita, was more human than dog. Then Duncan, Wink and Finn. He enjoyed taking long walks with them. Not sure who was exercising who. Paul loved to travel to the beach with his wife, where they would scour the beaches and tidal pools looking for and collecting beach glass, especially at Misquamicut and in Key West.

Along with his parents, Paul was preceded by his sister Myra Lee. Paul is survived by the love of his life, Maureen; and her children, John M. Dooley and his wife, Lauren, and their children Jack and Nicolas; Jamie Dooley; Gregory Woodruff and his wife, Jessica and their children Cameron and Liliana; as well as Lynsey Woodruff and her husband, Elwood and their son Trey. He is also survived by his son, Kyle Buettner and his wife, Brandi and their children Theo and Izabella; and step-son Justin DiNino; his brother, Bob Buettner and wife, Sandie; and nieces and nephews, Mike, Cathy, Peyton, Mindy, Jim, Sage and Quinn.

Calling hours for Paul will be held at the Holmes-Watkins Funeral Home, 400 Main St., Manchester, on Saturday, July 30, at 10 a.m., with a funeral service immediately following at 11 am. Burial will follow at East Cemetery.
