To Peter's family: I am not exaggerating when I say Mr. Vincenzo was my favorite teacher at Manchester High School. Such a sense of humor! And whenever he saw my mother around town, he always remembered who I was. That's amazing! Doing well in chemistry certainly helped me get accepted into a nursing program. Perhaps I can thank my very livelyhood to Mr. Vincenzo.

I am very sorry for your loss. I was a student of Mr. Vincenzo's back in the 70s at MHS. I always had a good time in his class and really looked forward to it. Plus I learned all the material. He made it fun and interesting. But the thing I remember most is you always knew that Mr. Vincenzo really cared about you not just as a student but more importantly as a person. I had run into Mr. Vincenzo several times since high school and he always remembered me and took the time to chat and catch up on things. He was a genuinely nice person!

I am terribly sorry for your loss.
I was thinking of Mr, V. just last week. I was a student of his in the mid 1980's and last saw him at Grossman's about 15 years ago. I distinctly remember talking with him after class one day. He had this big smile and a sparkle in his eyes as he told me about his daughter and how proud he was of her. He then took a photo from his wallet and said "Isn't she beautiful". He was a great teacher and a great guy. His signature in my yearbook says a lot about the man. It read "Your Friend, P.C. Vincenzo".
Rest in peace Mr. V.

Dearest Family of Peter,
Years ago I had the opportunity to work with Pete at a local lumber yard. He was a good man who could always bring a smile to someones face with his jokes or his genuine good nature. God bless all of you at this time of difficulty. Smile on, Pete.

So about 6 months ago I saw an old familiar face wandering the aisles at Stop and Shop.I stopped and said hello and greeted him with a warm smile which he flashed back but with a tinge of confusion somewhere behind those eyes.It had been just more than ten years and a lifetime of changes since last I saw him and I welcomed the unexpected chance to tell this man what his interest and care in me had meant when I was most lost all those years ago.He listened quietly with a look of pride that made me smile and afterwards confided in me that he was sadly unable to recall among a great many things who I was.I wanted to tell him so many things but simply stated I was one of many who were blessed and inspired by him and that memory is woven into the fabric of my being and I suspect a great deal of those he educated and cared for.He was simply an inspiration as an educator and as a man he set the bar high.He smiled the smile I had hoped for and was gone again, but not forgotten. And in the classroom that will one day be my own, their will always be a part of him.Never short a smile or lacking in care.
Rest in peace,to one of the best.

To Peter's Family,
I was saddened to read that Peter had passed away. He was a year ahead of me at Trinity, a quiet and hard-working student. We were both in the same local fraternity. After his graduation and time in the Marines, I visited him in Meriden (I think he had recently married). I have always remembered his comments on how much the Marines had affected him, that he had found a family there. Because of the distance between Meriden and here we lost touch; but I know that he was a model for many of his students over the years. You will treasure his memory as the pain of his sudden passing slowly decreases.
With sympathy,
Paul LaRocca
