Robert J. "Bob" Siracusa

Robert "Bob" J. Siracusa, 76, of Somers, beloved husband of Judith (Sobus) Siracusa for 53 years, entered peacefully into eternal rest on Thursday, Aug. 9, 2012, at St. Francis Hospital with his loving family at his side.

He was born in Auburn, N.Y., on July 22, 1936, to the late Robert and Mary (Standock) Siracusa, and lived in Liverpool, N.Y., prior to moving to Somers in 1983, where he was a communicant of All Saints Church. Bob served his country proudly in the U.S. Coast Guard during the Korean War. He had worked for the former Della Construction Co. and was later employed at Mather Construction until his retirement in 2002. Bob loved trips to Old Orchard Beach in Maine with his family, where many memories were made.

Bob was loved and will forever be missed by his wife, Judith, and their children, Tricia Siracusa of Somers, Anne Macro, and her husband, Matthew, of Chester, N.H., and Robert R. Siracusa, and his wife, Toni, of Hebron; his grandchildren who brought great joy to his life, Mitchell, Jacob, Camdyn, and Mattisyn Macro, and Erika, Victoria, and Olivia Siracusa; and two sisters, Irene O'Neil, and her husband, Jack, of Port Byron, N.Y., and Judy Caiola, and her husband, Steve, of Chapel Hill, N.C.; and several nieces and nephews.

Family and friends may gather at Somers Funeral Home, 354 Main St., Somers, on Monday, Aug. 13, 2012, at 9:30 a.m. for a procession to All Saints Church, 25 School St., Somersville, for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. in celebration of Bob's life, which will be followed by military honors. Burial will be private.

Bob's family will receive relatives and friends at the funeral home on Sunday, Aug. 12, from 5 to 8 p.m.
