Alma (Schneider) Skipper, 90, of Vernon, beloved wife of 63 years to the late Joseph Skipper (2017), passed away peacefully on Thursday, Oct. 14, 2021, at Vernon Manor.

Born in Rockville, she was the second child of the late Edward and Louise (Trueb) Schneider, she was a lifelong resident of Vernon. She was a graduate of Rockville High School, Class of 1949. Prior to her retirement in 1993, Alma was employed by Fleet Bank for 30 years. She was a longtime member of the Apostolic Christian Church in Ellington. Alma enjoyed gardening, canning and board games.

She is survived by her children, Peggy Bahler (Dave), Jean Bahler (Vern), Don Skipper (Cynthia), and Joan Kratzke (Scott). She also leaves 10 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; her sister Marie Garrow (Bernard); and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was also predeceased by her brother Emanuel "Sonny" Schneider; her sister Hannah Schneider; and her sister-in-law Verona Schneider.

Her family will receive friends for calling hours on Sunday, Oct. 17, 2021, from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m., followed by a funeral service beginning at 2:30 p.m., at the Apostolic Christian Church, 34 Middle Butcher Road, Ellington. Burial will follow in Ellington Center Cemetery.
