Thomas Frank Gill was born December 14, 1964, the first born to Thomas A Gill and Ann- Barbara (Hacker) Gill. Big brother to siblings, Eric W. Gill, Lisa-Marie Gill, and deceased Kevin O. Gill. As a child Tommy had a love for drawing his favorite cartoon & comic book characters. When he grew up, two life-changing events would accrue. First Peter Sakowski (the 1 and only Pete) Tommy became Flash and from that point on there was no turning back. They were Best Buds to the end. If there was fun to have Flash & Pete were in the middle of it. The two of them worked at Gordie's Place and ended up working on a cruise. I don't think either of them know how that happened. The second event was Tom/Flash went off to the Navy. After his time in the Navy, he returned home to Connecticut where he began working at Radio Shack, where he fell in love with all things geeky tech. This is the same time he got involved with Mud Vally Ball and joined the Connecticut APA. Tom fell hard for the artistry of playing pool. Billiards was his sport and stayed with him until the end. Tom introduced his family and friends to his game. Tom began running tournaments and soon began officiating billiard tournaments statewide. Then life hit him hard, so he moved in with his siblings off & on, getting to build bonds with his growing family of nephews & nieces: Ethan Gill, Emily Gill, Kira Gill, Joshua Gill, Boston Rasmussen, Amber Diaz, Shannon Estanislau, & Ryan Estanislau. He had a special connection with each member of the family, which allowed him to gain the strength to bounce back, until his unexpected passing at age 60 on Wednesday, September 3, 2025. A celebration of his life will be held on December 13th, 2025, at Racks Billiards and Bar (500 Talcottville Rd, Vernon, CT) one of the last pool halls Tom played at. Please come join us in Celebrating Tommy/Flash/ Tom, share stories, play a round of pool and rase a shot in honor of a one-of-a-kind, talented and all-around good guy. Memorial donations in his memory may be made to the American Heart Association or Habitat for Humanity.
