Wilbur LeRoy "Lee" Anderson, 88, of South Windsor, beloved husband of Rachel L. (Slock) Anderson died peacefully on Wednesday, December 10, 2025, at Manchester Rehabilitation and Health Center surrounded by his family. Lee was born in Chicago, IL, on March 7, 1937, son of the late Wilbur and Margaret (Branson) Anderson. A graduate of Eau Claire Wisconsin High School, he went on to earn his BS in mechanical engineering from the University of Minnesota and a master's in mechanical engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. He was also a member of Sigma Chi Fraternity. He worked at Pratt & Whitney Aircraft as an aeronautical engineer and retired in 1999 after 38 years of service. He served our country in the U.S. Army. Lee was a longtime member of the First Congregational Church of South Windsor and served as treasurer for over 40 years along with supporting many other church activities. Lee was a faithful enthusiastic supporter of the UConn men's and women's basketball teams throughout the years. He loved hiking, biking, skiing and being in the mountains and enjoyed many ski trips with family and friends. Lee played in tennis groups with many friends well into his 80s. He also enjoyed time on his sailboat and traveling with his closest friends. Along with his wife of over 64 years, Rachel, he leaves his two sons, David Anderson of Manchester and his partner Lisa Nyren, and Craig Anderson and his wife Kimberley of Wethersfield, his grandsons, Grant Anderson of Wethersfield, and Kyle Anderson of Denver, CO, and his brother, John Anderson and his wife Bernice of TX. His family will receive friends on Wednesday, December 17, 2025, from 4-6 p.m.at the Samsel & Carmon Funeral Home, 419 Buckland Rd, South Windsor. A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, December 18, 2025, 11 a.m., at the First Congregational Church of South Windsor, 993 Main St., South Windsor.
