Peter Kanzler Obituary
Peter H. Kanzler, age 50 of Freeport, IL, passed away on Monday, January 27, 2020 at FHN Memorial Hospital. A visitation will be held on Friday, February 7th from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Walker Mortuary in Freeport. The funeral service will be on Saturday, February 8th at 11:00 a.m. at First Free Methodist in Freeport with a visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. Interment will take place at Grandview Cemetery in Freeport. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established in his name. A full obituary may be read at www.walkermortuary.com.

Sorry to see you leave us so soon. I enjoyed every day we share golfing, fishing, and working at the Main Post office. You were an inspiration to what life should be. To see the innocence of joy on your face after catching your first red fish, to the joy of hitting your best drive on the old South Course at City Park. Everyone you came in contact with truly appreciated your joy for the moment. I was looking forward to seeing when your returned to New Orleans. I may not see you at Mardi Gras, but I will see you again when it´s my turn to go thru those gates to eternity. Until then, take care. It´s never goodbye, just see you later!

im so sorry to hear about your passing. You were such a great friend. You always brought positive vibes when ever you were present. Brother Pete. You weren't my brother in blood, but you were in friendship. I remember us hanging out as kids, roughly 10/11 yrs old and on. Always riding bikes and having fun. We made many many memories over the years, and in our later years talking bikes. Bike now, and bikes that we had as kids. We never had a bad word between us. Not one. That shows what kind of person you were. Always smiling, laughing and being the best that you could be, and were. You were a great brother, friend, soldier, and a supreme bike guru. I'm proud to have known you. Until we meet again....
