Ruth E. Johnson 1918—2016
Ruth E. Johnson, 98, of Freeport, passed away Saturday June 4, 2016 at St. Clare Friedensheim in Monroe, WI. She was born February 27, 1918 in Ridott the daughter of Charles and Ida (Mapes) Schleich. She married Robert G. Johnson on November 30, 1939 in Freeport. Robert died on June 20, 1998. Ruth was a farm wife in the Stephenson County area with her husband Robert. She was a member at Bethany United Church of Christ. Ruth was also a former member of the Germania Club were… she enjoyed dancing. Ruth is survived by her son Stanley (Sharon) Johnson of Elkhorn, WI; daughter Darlene (Ray) Kneller of Monroe, WI; three grandchildren Kris (Alan) Rufer of Monroe, WI, Stacy (Robb) Wise of Mt. Horeb, WI, Lori Johnson of Huburtus WI; and one great-grandchild Taylor Rufer. Ruth is preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother, twin sister, and grandson Barry Kneller.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday June 7, 2016 at Bethany United Church of Christ with a visitation from 10 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will be at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
