Bill Munn Obituary

Bill Munn

August 20, 1939 - October 19, 2025

Smarta**, pedantic, curmudgeon. Bill loved a cold beer on the driveway, a '56 Chevy over a '57 all day long, and his kids and grandkids. Not necessarily in that order. Master of the crossword to his last days, coulda been a (Jeopardy) contender, and could fix about anything. Logged thousands of steps downtown between breakfast and lunch at the Cornhusker and occasional rehydration stops. Usually, behatted. Highly annoyed by but loved collecting malapropisms. Refused to pass mustard. Parrothead. Taco Hutter (if you know, you know). East Balcony season ticket holder 1965-2022 (hard pass on the $5,000 'annual donation'). Otherwise, generous to a fault. Anti-sweatpants in public, bikes on the sidewalk, and backpacks on grownups. Clever, funny, and kind to the end. He will be missed by many. Bill's unequivocal direction was 'No funeral. Have a beer party. Wine is ok too.' Plans are in process, details to follow. Memorials, should you be so inclined, to Capital (not Capitol) Humane Society, Cedars Home for Children Foundation, or Matt Talbot Kitchen and Outreach.

I didn't have the pleasure of knowing Bill, but I will defend his choice of the '56 Chevy forever; only new car we ever owned!!
