To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.
Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."
It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man.
God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.
When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.
I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is over.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.
There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.
If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.
So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.
And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.

Dear Vicki,
I just spoke with my friend Sue Whalen and she told me about your daughter. I am so very saddened for you and your family, it is devastating, our family lost a young one a little over a year ago.
No words can help, but I wanted you to know how sad I am for you. I'll be thinking of you and your family.
Sincerely,

Vicki,
I do not know you or your family. I saw you and your husband on the news in Chicago and my heart went out to you both for your tragic loss. My name is Kelley Carta. I am originally from Connecticut and my mother's maiden name is Treat. I know there are not many Treat's so it is likely that we are related somehow. If you care to get in touch, I can be reached at [email protected]. My deepest sympathy to you and your family.

To the entire Treat-Huber family and Boys Town community, We are so heart broken as a family and also the loving parents of a Boys Town sophomore full of enthusiasm as she experiences such a caring environment at Boys Town’s main campus. We had learned of Caitlin’s complications just a few days after we saw our daughter off at Chicago Midway Airport heading back to Omaha. Then we saw Charles and Vicki holding one year old Annalycia in a brief and sad minute on the evening WGN TV news. As not only proud parents of an outgoing, fun and anxious 15 year old Boys Town resident/student, but as a father, and lifetime member of the Boys Town National Alumni Association, our prayers and thoughts are so much with you. Father Flanagan is with Caitlin in Heaven, and as God watches over Patricia Anna may He help you heal from these so very difficult times as we know all is in His hands.

I met Caitie at Boys Town. And From all the girls that where there, Caitie caught my attention because of her meek and simple welcoming smile. She seemed to Have inner beauty about her and it seemed to me she was at peace with herself. Caitie was the only one that I am able to remember without much thought. I always commented on how she was the most beautiful cheerleader. To me she had the most perfect body. The body I always wished I had growing up. As soon as I heard about your tragedy, I started to pray and pray. Since then my thoughts have been with you and your family. I hope you can come to the comfort and peace through everybody’s prayers.

Nature
As a fond mother, when the day is o'er,
Leads by the hand her little child to bed,
Half willing, half reluctant to be led,
And leave his broken playthings on the floor,
Still gazing at them through the open door,
Nor wholly reassured and comforted
By promises of others in their stead,
Which, though more splendid, may not please him more;
So Nature deals with us, and takes away
Our playthings one by one, and by the hand
Leads us to rest so gently, that we go
Scarce knowing if we wish to go or stay,
Being too full of sleep to understand
How far the unknown transcends the what we know.
