Charles W. Langloss

Charles W. Langloss, 89, of Lincoln went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus The Christ on September 7, 2023. Born May 28, 1934, in Hastings, NE to Clarence and Helen (Gallagher) Langloss.
Charles graduated from Hastings St. Cecilia's High School Class of 1952. Following graduation, Charles joined the US Navy and was discharged on May 27, 1955. In August of 1955, Charles was accepted into the Nebraska State Patrol Academy, where he served until December 1988, retiring as Captain of the Carrier Enforcement Division.
Following his retirement, in February of 1989, he was employed by the US Department of Transportation in Ames, IA returning to Lincoln, NE in October 1995 to oversee the Nebraska Division of Transportation, retiring as State Director (Div Admin) in August 1999.
Charles volunteered at People City Mission in January 2003 and was employed part-time in October where he served until January 2012.
Charles received a police administration degree in 1979 from Central Missouri University, his bachelor's degree in criminal justice from University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 1982, and Federal Bureau Investigation Class #135 in 1983.
Charles was preceded in death by his son Kenneth Langloss and his wife Margaret (Kelzer) Svoboda who had five children; Joseph (Yolanda) Svoboda, Laure (Lynn) Savory, Victoria (Mark) Bauer, William "Bill" Svoboda, and James (Danielle) Svoboda. Charles was also preceded in death by his former wife Laura (Langloss) Beliford. He is survived by his children; Theresa (Jeffrey) Hale, Randel (Roxana) Langloss, Tamera (Terrence) Sheahan, and Jeffrey (Michelle) Langloss; 20 grandchildren and 15+ great grandchildren.
Memorial service: 10:00 am Thursday, September 28, 2023, Legacy Terrace – Ironhorse Room, 5700 Fremont St. Private inurnment in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings, NE.
