March 4, 1938 - November 9, 2025
Dallas G. Drda was born in Beatrice, NE, to Victor and Mildred (Bartos) Drda, and passed away on November 9, 2025. Dallas graduated from Lincoln High in 1956, the University of Nebraska, Lincoln (Electrical Engineering) in 1961, and married the love of his life Delores later that year.
Dallas worked briefly with General Dynamics, followed by a long career with the Nebraska Department of Roads. Following retirement, the couple traveled extensively before residing on Beaver Lake in AR. After returning to Lincoln, he was a beloved member of The Landing community, always ready to help his neighbors with furniture repairs, tech challenges and share either a joke or discussion on theoretical physics. Dallas loved camping, hiking, DIY projects, and woodworking.
Predeceased by his parents; brother, Douglas; and wife, Delores. Dallas is survived by daughters, Kimberly (Kevin) Kass, Kristin Drda, and Karolyn (Brian) Husa; grandchildren, Tyler Kass, Aubrey Kass, Dominic Liguori, Luka Liguori; brother-in-law, Donald Minford; nieces, nephew; and his special friend, Nancy Calvert.
Memorials to The Landing Scholarship Fund or the Nebraska Wildlife Federation, https://www.nebraskawildlife.org/get-involved/donate. Celebration of life will be January 30, 2026, at 10 a.m. at Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home, 6800 S. 14th St., Lincoln, NE 68512.

Dallas and I had many technical discussions and he was the first to show me the first electronic hand held calculator..an HP35. He was provocative in our discussions and made me rethink a lot of opinions I had held. We had not been in touch since the 70's but he had an impact and encouraged me to pursue my career in electronics. Very near to my technical heart.
