Donald Brodie Obituary

Donald Brodie 83, Wenatchee, Wash. formerly of Lincoln, passed away peacefully Friday (07/25/08). Born February 26, 1924 to Sewell and Lucille Brodie at Kingston, Jamaica. He came to the U.S. in 1945 to attend Union College and study theology. Former member of Piedmont Park Seventh Day Adventist Church, Lincoln. Don had many friends and was involved in church activities. He had a talent and love for singing and performed with the gospel group "The Messengers". Don began working in concrete construction with Wassemiller Construction and after working his way to foreman set out to start his own business in 1963. Don continued in his business, "Your Concrete Specialist", for 40 years, expanding and moving to Omaha and Rapid City, SD. After retiring in 2003 in Rapid City, S.D., he enjoyed volunteering including work with the Senior Companion Program.
A loving husband, father, grandpa and friend, Don is survived and mourned by: wife, Peggy; son, Wayne, Ft. Worth, Texas; daughters and sons-in-law, Dianna and Don Wright, Lincoln; Tammy and Kevin Gusmano, Rapid City, S.D.; Cathy and Curt Braun, Chicago, Ill.; Cll.; brothers, Henry Brodie, Walla Walla, Wash.; William Brodie; sister, Kathleen Brodie; and many grandchildren; greatgrandchildren; nephews; nieces; and friends. Preceded in death by wife of 46 years, Helen Brodie; parents, Sewell and Lucille Brodie; brother, Wesley Brodie; and sister, Marion Brodie.
Memorial Services pending in Wenatchee, Wash. Private burial in Lincoln.

So sorry to hear about the passing of Don. He was a wonderful man. He did cement work for us at our house in Rapid City. We will miss him.
