I had the privilege of starting out my barber career with Dwayne at Gateway barbershop. I learned alot from Dwayne. He was so fun and upbeat. Lots of great memories. He loved barbering. He'll be missed by many.

Dwayne starting cutting my hair when he was still at Gateway Barber. He gave my son, Josh, his first hair cut in 1976. He cut my hair and beard for the last time in March. I will miss his smile and laugh. To say he was a good friend would be a gross understatement. God Bless You.

Dwayne cut my hair in the 80s until I moved away from Lincoln. I have never had anyone who could come close to cutting my hair like he did. It was always fun to go in for an appointment. He was so upbeat and positive. I remember how proud he was of his children. Rest in peace Dwayne.

Dwayne took our family from first haircuts for our boys, thru military "high & tights", and on into the "only your hairdresser knows" visits... ALWAYS with his dynamite, outgoing personality, kindness, and expertise! You were loved by so many and you are missed!

Dwayne was a great friend and an excellent barber for more than 40 years. He gave both our kids their first haircut. We had the best conversations. We will miss you Dwayne! Rest in peace.

I served in Vietnam with Dwayne, 1st Platoon, A Co., 2/22 Inf. Mechanized, U.S. 25th Infantry Division. He was a buddy and a heck of a good soldier. No matter what was thrown his way, he met it head on, never complaining. He always got along with everyone. He is standing center (with the red hair) in the photo. We reconnected at a reunion in 2014 and stayed in touch. It's hard to lose another Vietnam brother. RIP Dwayne and God Speed.

So sad to hear about Dwayne
He loved to be a barber and I looked forward to visiting him regularly. His stories about family, specifically his grandkids were very special.
I also loved hearing about his Army service and ongoing travel to get together with his unit. Hey was one of a kind, and I miss him. God speed.
