Ned Porn passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 10, 2025, at Cedar Creek of High Plains in Lincoln, Neb., following a short battle with a rare neurological prion disease.

Edward F. "Ned" Porn, III was born in Richland Center, Wis., to Edward and Betty Porn on October 5, 1955. He graduated from Lincoln East High School in 1974. Ned married Lorri Atwood in Norfolk on February 3, 1979. They began their lives in Norfolk; Lorri as an elementary school teacher and Ned as a concrete contractor, establishing a new business, Ned Porn Construction Inc. in 1982. The couple had three boys, Gregory, Brian, and Matthew. They were Ned's greatest pride and joy, and he and Lorri enjoyed every moment supporting them whether it was on the field, mat, court, or in theater seats.

Ned was a true outdoorsman. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, but most of all, he cherished all time spent at his beloved Big Stone Lake. Many memories were made there, and his legacy will live on with every fish caught, even if it is a "Big Stone Walleye."

Ned and Lorri were blessed with seven granddaughters and one grandson within eleven years. This brought Ned so much happiness and revealed a softer side of him. He enjoyed sharing his passions with them, beginning with their first fishing pole often brought to the hospital! He was their biggest cheerleader in all their activities, never passing up Grandparent's Day festivities with Lorri.

Ned is survived by his wife of 46 years, Lorri; their three sons, Greg (Lacey) of Battle Creek, Brian (Whitney) of Norfolk, and Matt (Anne) of Lincoln; seven grandchildren, Clara, Emmanuelle, Edie, Georgia, Willa, Remy, Lucy, and Noah; three siblings, Pat of Lincoln, Bill of Crete, and Mary (Kelly) of Lincoln; mother-in-law, Jean; brother-in-law, Lonn; sisters-in-law, Lindy (Danny), and Lisa (Ryan) all of Norfolk; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Ned was preceded in death by his parents, Ed and Betty; and father-in-law, Ted.

Ned left a lasting impression on so many, and he was loved very much by his family and friends. He may be remembered by some for his tough exterior but to those who really knew him, we will remember his silly sense of humor, tenderness, commitment to his family and his love of peanut M&M's.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family of Ned Porn for later designation.

I am so very sorry to hear this! I knew Ned and his parents through my employment at A.C. Nielsen Company. He was one of the most outgoing, funny, and energetic persons I have ever met, and his entire family were incredibly kind to me. I remember when he married Lorri and started his business in Norfolk. My sincere condolences to Pat, Mary and Bill, and to Lorri and her children and grandchildren. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

May God bless you and your family in this time of sorrow.

I would like to add, My Father was Dean E. Wright.
My Fathers Business: Wright Construction Co. -- is where Ned learned the Flatwork Concrete Business before moving to Norfolk, NE to start his own Concrete Business. I worked with Ned for approx. 1-2 years in the summer time when I also worked for my Fathers Concrete business. I have fond memories of Ned, --- He was always smiling, a hard worker, and just an all around GREAT GUY. So sorry to learn of Ned passing on.
