I graduated from Lincoln High in 1970. Mrs. Buell was one of my math teachers. Later on, much later on, I ran into her at St. Paul Methodist church. I greeted her telling her that I was one of her students. She was pleasant but looked confused. A little while later she told me that she had gone home and looked me up in her book and that then she remembered all about me and shared what she had written.

Miss Buell was my trigonometry (and maybe geometry) teacher at Lincoln High School. Super-smart and gave us helpful instructions. I ran into her at Gramercy Hill when my mother went there in assisted living. She remembered me after all those years, and was interested in my writing. Sounds like she did not slow down after retirement--a sweet and generous person!

I was fortunate enough to be taught by Frances at Lincoln High for 3 math classes in the 70's. She was a wonderful teacher and really cared about her students. I worked at the Food Bank and remember the many times she picked up food for St. Paul United Methodist food pantry. We weighed every box of food & Frances would write the pound totals on a piece of paper as we went along. When I'd offer a hand calculator to add up her numbers, she always declined. She preferred doing it all by hand to keep her mind sharp as she put it. Old school all the way. I will never forget her.

Miss Buell was my Algebra 3 teacher, Winter 1973, and Pre-Calculus (Trigonometry & Analytic Geometry) teacher, 1973-1974, at Lincoln High School. She is one of the few teachers that I still remember from my years at LHS. To bad the little book is lost because I'd love to know what she thought of me. I ended up as an electrical engineer ... but I'm not sure too many would have expected that.
My thoughts and prayers to Frances's family and friends.

I became acquainted with Frances in 1950-51 when she taught Youth Sunday School class at Saint Paul UMC; while she finished her studies. Years later she shared with me, that list of students in that class - amazing lady. I remember her working with the Food Bank through St. Paul and her dedication to typing the services in Braille, for the vision impaired at church. It was always what Frances could do for others. My son Rob also was a student of hers at LHS and made Math a lot easier for him too, Blessings and Peace to a Grand Lady.

Ms. Buell was my geometry teacher at LHS in 1969. This was during a turbulent time in my life. But she was a bright spot in my life. She was a sweet and caring woman. May light perpetual shine upon her.

Miss Buell was my geometry teacher at Lincoln High School.
The very best teacher for a subject that required lots of study.
She was always helpful and interested in how her students were doing.
I also visited her at Madonna. She was well liked and quite happy to see a student who took time to visit. I'll always think of her.

One of the best teachers I ever had. During my sophomore year at Lincoln High in 1970, she patiently helped me understand geometry.
Was privileged to perform for her at Gramercy hill many years later.

My husband, Jerry Copley, had her as one of his teachers at Lincoln High. They reconnected through Eastern Star years ago. They both enjoyed talking about their time at Lincoln High. She was a very kind and caring person.
