George Arthur Hunt, Jr.

George Arthur Hunt, Jr., 83, of Lincoln, passed away April 3, 2021. Born July 26, 1937 in Twin Falls, ID to George Arthur and Bessie Mary (Skakal) Hunt. George served in the U.S. Air Force as a mechanic. He was retired from Kerford Limestone owned by Abels Construction as plant superintendent. George was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles in El Dorado Springs, MO.
George was known to most as Junior. He loved going fishing and helping every year to catch and fry the fish at the annual family fish fry in Missouri. He enjoyed many years of hunting with his friends and hunting dogs. Some of his favorite hobbies were traveling, dancing, playing cards, making homemade ice cream using an old hit and miss engine, and telling stories. Junior had a way of making everyone feel like they were family. He was a big man with a big heart, always there to help someone if they needed it. He deeply loved his family and friends.
Family members include his sons Larry (Valeria) Hunt and Randy Hunt, all of Lincoln; grandchildren Cassy (Derek) Richardson, Tiffany Hunt, Sadie Beck, Natalia (Ethan) Cook, Alejandra Wetjen, Timothy Hunt, John Hunt, Jesserae Beck, Jill Beck, and Benjamin Glenn; several great-grandchildren; special companion Sharon Lulow; sisters Carolyn (Dennis) Storbeck, Olathe, KS, and Patti Alexander, El Dorado Springs, MO; brothers Tommy Julian, Crete, and John (Bert) Julian, El Dorado Springs, MO; numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his wife Vera; parents; son Gary Hunt; brothers Harold Hunt, Harold Julian and Junior Julian.
Funeral Service: 1:00 p.m. Thursday (4-8-21) Roper and Sons Midtown Chapel, 4300 'O' Street with Pastor Perry Beard. Face coverings are required. A following service will take place 2:00 p.m. Saturday (4-10-21) at Sheldon Funeral Home in El Dorado Springs, MO, and burial will be at El Dorado Springs City Cemetery. Memorial to the Alzheimer's Association. Visitation one hour prior to service time. "Hugs from Home" or Condolences online at Roperandsons.com
