Gerald William Heussmann, 84, formerly of Lincoln and Chadron, passed away on November 30, 2023, in Wahoo, NE. He was born on April 10, 1939, in rural Johnson County, NE, to Norman and Margaret (Harms) Heussmann. Gerald was a Pharmacist for 50 years, living for 43 of those years in Chadron, NE.
Family members include wife, Betty; daughters: Susan (Gary) Olson and Pat (Larry) Heyen; granddaughters: Natalie (Matt) Echtenkamp, Miranda (Jeff) Kliment, Anessa Olson, Mischa (Aditya) Vaidyanathan; and grandson, Patrick (Jenna) Heyen; seven great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Dale (Beth) Van Gent; sister-in-law, Mary Ann Hill; numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents; three infant brothers; and brother-in-law, Don Hill.
Celebration of Life to be held 1:00 p.m., Friday, December 8, 2023, at Grace Lutheran Church, 827 County Road 18, Wahoo, NE, 68066.
Memorial may be designated to the First Congregational Church of Chadron, 370 Chadron Ave., Chadron, NE, 69337.

I was deeply saddened to learn of Gerry´s death. We worked together at Four Star when I was a new graduate and he taught me a lot. I know I´m a far better pharmacist due to his mentorship but the most valuable thing he taught me was how to find the humor in the challenges. It was real a pleasure to work with him.
My condolences to all of Gerry´s family. May your happy memories sustain each of you at this difficult time.
