John R. "Jack" Coupe

July 23, 1929 - October 7, 2025

On October 7, 2025, surrounded by loved ones, John R. "Jack" Coupe entered into eternal life at the age of 96. Jack was born on July 23, 1929, in Falls City, Neb., to John B. and Abbey (Higgins) Coupe.

Jack is survived by his daughter, Caroline (Mitch) Schainost of Lincoln, Neb.; son in-law, Larry Potratz of Lincoln, Neb.; stepdaughter, Sonya (Randy) Kummer of Nebraska City, Neb.; stepson, Rex (Jamie) Peake of Lincoln, Neb.; six grandchildren; four stepgrandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and three great great-grandchildren. He is also lovingly remembered by the Fallbrook Assisted Living community, whom he adored and cherished as family.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Elizabeth Nelson; wife, Mary Sue Coupe; and daughter, Candice Potratz.

Services will be held on Thursday, October 30, 2025 with Rosary beginning at 10:30 a.m., and Memorial Mass beginning at 11 a.m., at North American Martyrs Catholic Church, located at 1101 Isaac Dr. in Lincoln. Inurnment with Military Honors will be held at 2 p.m., at Lincoln Memorial Park Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to Lincoln Food Bank or Catholic Social Services.
