Joy Lee Obituary
February 4, 1965 - October 29, 2024
Joy Marie Fringer Lee was born in Lincoln, Feb. 4, 1965, to Clifford Fringer and Patricia Swanson; and adopted as an infant into the family of Shirley and Art Ryan.
Joy grew up in Belmont and graduated from Lincoln High School. Tended bar at Joe's Place, Mary's Place and O'Rourke's Tavern. Former employee, Novartis (later GSK). In 1989, she met Dan Lee, and they were married in 1993.
Joy loved to travel, and she loved cats, dogs and monkeys. She was the cool aunt to her 15 nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Cliff Fringer, Arthur and Shirley Ryan; and her brothers, Pat Ryan and Ed Ryan. She is survived by sisters Linda Oliver, Cheryl Roper, Bonnie Rice, Sue Childress and Klara Schuman; sisters-in-law, Renae Mai and Therese Pekelder; brothers-in-law, Gary Roper, Don Rice, Jim Schuman; father Mike Lee and Mark Lee; aunts Jan, Hubba and Dorothy (Pork); nieces and nephews; and many, many cousins. She is also survived by Puffy the cat; and Dan the husband, who will miss her very much.
Joy's ashes will be scattered in Negril, West Jamaica, and Maple Grove Cemetery in Guide Rock, NE.
A Party of Joy will be on Nov. 8, 2024 at Courtside Banquet Hall, 333 Speedway Circle, from 2 to 7 p.m. Memorials in Joy's honor are designated to the Capital Humane Society and Friendship Home (both of Lincoln, Nebraska). For more information please visit www.lincolnfh.com
