June Plunkett, of Weeping Water, passed away peacefully on May 14, 2025, at The Gatey House in Syracuse, Neb.
June was born in Korea and met Wendell while he was stationed in Korea. After meeting in a tea shop in 1965, they returned to the US and have been married for 58 years.
June is survived by husband, Wendell Plunkett; children, Joseph (Melissa) Plunkett, June (Richard) McConnell; grandchildren, Anna (Eric) Bjerke, Abigal (Dylan) Dempsey, Erin Plunkett, Amanda Plunkett, Josh McConnell, Nicole (Jacob) Loberg; also many great-grandchildren; and other siblings.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Visitation is 4 to 6 p.m., Sunday, May 18, 2025, at Hammons Family Funeral Chapel. Funeral service will be 11 a.m., Monday, May 19, 2025, at Faith Missionary Church in Weeping Water. Memorials are suggested to Dementia Society.org or The Gately House, 1124 Midland, Syracuse, NE 68446 or Faith Missionary Church.
