Dr. Gregory William Kallos, 77, Lincoln, died Saturday (1/8/05). Born, Horton, Kan. (8/1/27) to William and Pota (Poulemenos) Kallos. Longtime Lincoln-area dentist. Served as dentist in U.S. Air Force, Korean War. Real estate developer. Developed Continental Commons in downtown Lincoln.
Graduate, University of Nebraska, and UNL Dental College, 1953. Chairman, March of Dimes,1962. President of Jaycees, 1963, University of Nebraska Dental College Alumni, 1964, Executive Club, 1972, and Lincoln District Dental Association, 1980.
Member, Greek Orthodox Church of the Annunciation, Lincoln Artists Guild, Downtown Lincoln Association and UpDowntowners, Lincoln Country Club, NU Alumni Association, Sigma Chi fraternity. Docent, Sheldon Art Gallery. Treasurer, Friends of Opera. On the board, Nebraska Commission on Aging. He and Arnott Folsom were responsible for getting the train for the Children's Zoo. One of founders of Jay Ceeniles.
Survivors: wife, Dorie; daughter, son-in-law, Stephanie Kallos and Bill Johns, Seattle; grandsons, Noah Gregory and Samuel Liam Johns, both Seattle; brother, sister-in-law, Tom and Olga, Denver; sister, Elaine Kallos, Denver.
Services: 10 a.m. Thursday, Greek Orthodox Church of the Annunciation, 950 N. 63rd St. Presbyter Seraphim Rohlman, officiating. Entombment: Lincoln Memorial Park Mausoleum. Pallbearers: Harlan Weingart, Gene Bruening, Dr. Pat McCulla, Dr. Al Beck, George Snider, Bill Johns. No visitation. Memorials, in lieu of flowers, to donor's favorite charity, in memory of Dr. Kallos. Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home, 6800 S. 14th St.
