Nicholas Lee Birkel (Nick) of Lincoln passed away May 7 at the age of 73. Visitation: Monday, May 16, 2022 from 10am to 4pm at Butherus Maser & Love Funeral Home and Monday and 6-7pm at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 1940 South 77th Street, Lincoln, Rosary will begin at 7pm. Funeral Mass, Tuesday, May 17, 2022 at 10am at St. Joseph Catholic Church. The service will be livestreamed, please visit www.bmlfh.com for the live stream link. Burial: Tuesday, May 17, 2022 at 3:30pm at Resurrection Cemetery, 7710 West Center Road, Omaha, NE, 68124. Condolences can be sent to www.bmlfh.com Butherus, Maser & Love Funeral Home will be handling the arrangements.

The last time I saw Nick was at our 40-year reunion in Omaha in 2019. It was so nice to be able to catch up with him. Both my wife and I are sorry for your loss. We lost my father-in-law and my mother to colon cancer. May Nick be forever at peace. He will be missed.
