Opal Nelson Obituary

Opal Glo Garnick Nelson, 97, Lincoln, passed away Saturday (12/16/06) in Lincoln. Glo, as she was always known, was born on Sept. 9, 1909, to Roscoe and Rachel Garnick in Ord. She lived much of her life on a farm she shared with her husband of more than fifty years. She has resided with her daughter in Lincoln since1992.

Survivors: daughter, LaRue Wunderlich, Lincoln; grandsons, Wade Wunderlich,Omaha, Lee Wunderlich, Roca, Dale Wunderlich, Manhattan, Kan.; great-granddaughter, Pamela Wunderlich, San Bernardino, Calif.; great-grandsons, Joel Wunderlich, Omaha, Jason Wunderlich, Roca, Craig Wunderlich, Omaha, Benjamin Wunderlich, Papillion; brother, William Garnick, Crowheart, Wyo.; sisters-in-law, Laura Field, Junction City, Kan., Elsie Patrick, Scotia; many nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by: parents; husband, Leo Nelson; brother, Harold Garnick; sister, Gwen Hansen; son-in-law, Deon Wunderlich.

Services: 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, Butherus, Maser & Love Chapel, 4040 A St. Armand Vogt, Saint Paul's Methodist Church, officiating. Graveside services: 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, Ord Cemetery, Ord. Visitation: noon-9 p.m. today, funeral home.
