Sheryl Ann Jedlicka

Sheryl Ann Jedlicka, 71, of Lincoln, NE passed away suddenly on October 24, 2024. Sheryl was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and lifelong Educator who will be deeply missed.

Sheryl was born October 1953, in Fremont, NE, to Perry and Eileen (Boschult) Nelson. Sheryl earned her Bachelor of Science in Education-Speech Pathology from UNL in 1975 and Master of Science in Resource and Learning Disabilities from UNO in 1978.

During her undergraduate work at UNL, she met the love of her life, Richard Jedlicka. Sheryl cherished the love they shared and built a beautiful family together. They celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary May 25, 2024, surrounded by family and friends from all periods of her life.

She was a Speech Pathologist for 30 years, with a majority spent at Eagle Elementary. Sheryl inspired countless students with varying needs. She used her expertise in Speech to help her students find their voices and reach their full potential. In her retirement, her new passion was being a grandmother. She also enjoyed spending time with Richard, her children, and her friends. She volunteered at her Grandchildren's School and Villa Marie School. She treasured every opportunity to share her talents.

Sheryl leaves behind a legacy of love, compassion and dedication that will forever resonate in the hearts of all who knew her. She spent her time thinking of others before herself, and always making sure that those she loved most were well taken care of.

Sheryl was survived by her husband Richard Jedlicka; her children Jason (Michelle); Stephanie (James) and Joel; her grandchildren Cameron and Harper; sisters Karen and Gail; brother Darwin and many other family members and friends who will cherish her memory.

Sheryl was preceded in death by her parents, Perry and Eileen Nelson, and Edward and Agnes Jedlicka.

Visitation will be Sunday, October 27, 2024 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Family present 5 to 6 p.m., Rosary at 6 p.m., both at Butherus Maser & Love Funeral Home, 4040 A Street, Lincoln, NE. Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday at 10:30 a.m., at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 1940 South 77th Street. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery at 1:15 p.m. Memorials to Matt Talbot Kitchen & Outreach and Catholic Social Services.
