Steven Frede Obituary

Steven Bertyl Frede

February 27, 1951 - April 12, 2025

Steven Bertyl Frede was born February 27, 1951, in Nebraska City to Marjorie & Bertyl Frede. Steve's journey ended peacefully on April 12, 2025, at the age of 74 with his family and loved ones by his side.

Steve is survived by his ex-wife, Linda Haith of 34 years and faithful caregiver until the very end; and his beloved three children, Stephanie, Shawn, and Stacy. His memory lives on with his grandchildren Tyler, Tasha, Chase, David, Preston, Caden, Collin, Derek and Steven and Great Grandchildren Alexis, Kingsleigh, Heiress and Aidyn. Steve was also survived by his dear brother Verle Sigler and Sister Donetta Noerrlinger.

Steve loved spending time with his family and had a special affection for his dog Hank. His favorite hobby and prize possession was his 2009 Red Corvette that made many appearances in local car shows where he enjoyed bringing home a trophy from almost every event he attended. Steve also found the time to take care of and ride a few of his other prized possessions, a 1979 Harley Davidson and a 2005 Harley Davidson.

Steve was a proud Vietnam Veteran, who was forever changed by the brutality of war, but was always determined to never forget those lost. He found comfort in the brotherhood that he forged with his fellow comrades.

Thank you to everyone for your thoughts and prayers for Steve and the Frede family as it has been much appreciated!

We will be celebrating Steve's life on May 4, 2025 at the Daily Denton Double 7230 Lancaster Avenue in Denton, NE from 1:00 - 4:00 p.m.

I was blessed to meet Steve and his family. Steve certainly had a heart filled with love for his family, then his dog and his car. He was always so kind when I visited.
I always hold our Veterans close to my heart, so was blessed to meet him.
My condolences, to his family and loved ones.

He was a really nice classmate. He always liked cars, usually a fast one. Fly high!
