Cammera Block Obituary
Cammera Mae Block (Harrell), 89, affectionately known as Grandma Block, passed away peacefully on December 1, 2025, in Georgetown, Texas. Born on September 24, 1936, in Monticello, Arkansas, she was the daughter of the late Samuel and Gussie (Ridgell) Harrell.
Cammera was a woman of deep faith whose gentle smile and kind spirit brought comfort to all who knew her. She accepted Christ at Brooks Chapel in Monticello, where her trust in Jehovah GOD and her hope in the resurrection became lifelong sources of strength. She was raised with great love and care and cherished many fond childhood memories shared with her cousins, John Ridgell, the late Calvin Ridgell, and the late Audrey Edwards.
She married the love of her life, Jefferson (Jeff) Block Jr., and together they made their home in Racine, Wisconsin. Cammera worked faithfully for thirty-three years at Moxness Products and later pursued studies at Gateway Technical College. Known for her warm hospitality, she created a home where family, friends, and neighbors were always welcomed with kindness, comfort, and a listening ear.
Cammera was a devoted mother to her five children: Juan Block of Racine, Wisconsin; Doris Tomlinson of Southfield, Michigan; Janice (Felix) Banks of Cottage Grove, Wisconsin; Diane (Ben) Nwonye of Georgetown, Texas; and Jeffrey Block of Racine, Wisconsin. She was the proud grandmother of Cameron (Miguel) Maldonado, Stephanie (Wilfred III) Ortiz, Raymond Biegler, and Jasmine Block.
Her legacy continues through her many great-grandchildren: Destiny Ocacio, Richard Ocacio IV, Meranda Ocacio, Wilfred Ortiz IV, Aquil Ocacio, Mackenzie Ortiz, Andres Ocacia, Gracie Ocacia, Jahliel (Jay) Townsend, Melody Biegler, and Tamiyah (MiMi) Townsend, as well as her beloved great-great-grandson, Matteo Ocacio.
She enjoyed traveling throughout Asia, the Middle East, Australia, and New Zealand, and especially treasured the moments she shared with her children during these trips. She held many people close to her heart, including Terri Lee, whom she embraced as a daughter, and Corbin Turner, her adopted grandson. She also shared a special bond with her cousin John, whom she lovingly regarded as her brother.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Samuel and Gussie (Ridgell) Harrell, her husband, Jefferson (Jeff) Block Jr., and her granddaughter, Brittany Nelson.
She will be remembered as a beloved daughter, devoted wife, caring mother, proud grandmother, and loyal friend. Cammera's love remains with us, and her light continues to shine in every heart she touched.
A memorial service will be held on December 15, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at New Omega Baptist Church, 5731 Northwestern Avenue, Caledonia, WI 53406.
