C.J. "Bud" Taylor

1936 - 2025

Bud passed away peacefully at the age of 89, surrounded by family, his greatest source of pride, purpose, and joy. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 58 years, Joanne, as well as by his parents, Clare and Ethel Taylor, his brother Ted, and his sister Marion. He was born in London, ON, then moved to Brantford after he and Joanne married. Bud is survived by his children Lee (Ian Scott), Brad (Carrie), and Brian (Jill); and the lucky seven grandchildren who called him "Papa Bud": Adam (Zoe), Gabby, Isobel, Josh, Katie, Marin, and Justin.

Bud worked most of his career in various accounting and financial positions at S.C. Johnson. After retiring in 1995, Bud and Joanne divided their time between Port Charlotte, Florida, and their much-loved lake house in Magnetawan, ON.

One of Bud's loves was tennis, and he was blessed to play tennis until the last few months of his life and enjoyed the comradery of his tennis partners in Riverwood and in Huntsville. He was also a fierce card player with a sharp mind. Bud rarely turned down a game of bridge, cribbage, or Five Crowns and always played to win. He also enjoyed woodworking and making treasured pieces for his family. His greatest joy, however, came from the people around him. He lived by simple truths: take care of your health, care for others, and never miss a chance to say, "I love you" to family and friends. He will be deeply missed and warmly remembered.
