Eleanor Dase

Eleanor Dase Racine - Eleanor Dase, 96, passed away at Becker Shoop Center on Thursday, March 8, 2012. Eleanor was born in Hayward, WI on October 11, 1915 to Ingwald and Olena (nee, Amundsen) Melby and was one of fourteen children. On May 19, 1937 in Elgin, IL, Eleanor married Edward J. Dase. He preceded her in death on October 22, 1992. Eleanor and Edward owned and operated Dase Food/Meat Market for many years until their retirement. Eleanor was an avid golfer, wonderful entertainer, "cook of the month", and a beautiful, generous, kind human being. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Survivors include her sisters, Ruth James, Frances Petersen and Betty Rumen. Eleanor is also survived by many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters; and five brothers. Funeral services for Eleanor will be held at the funeral home on Sunday, March 11, 2012 at 1 p.m. A private family entombment will take place at West Lawn Memorial Park. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the funeral home on Sunday afternoon from 12 noon until the time of the service. Memorials may be directed to Racine Bible Church.
