Felicita Romo
July 12, 1934 - May 27, 2024
Our beloved mother and grandmother, Felicita Romo, entered eternal rest on May 27th, 2024.
Felicita (nee Rios), of Racine, Wisconsin and Crockett, Texas was born July 12th, 1934, in Robstown, Texas. She is preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Ramiro Sr., and her brother, Santiago. She will be deeply missed by her sons: Ramiro, Jr. (Joan) and Mustafa (Chris) Siamof; her six grandchildren: Danielle Romo, Jossalyn (Billy) Pennington, Tony (Candice) Romo, Chloe, Cerise, and Callie Siamof; and seven great-grandchildren: Caleb, Emma, Alexis, Hawkins, Rivers, Jones, and Louisa.
Felicita married Ramiro Romo, Sr. on March 5th, 1955. She and her husband first earned their living as migrant workers, but in a testament to their ingenuity and work ethic would go on to own and operate several small businesses in both Wisconsin and Texas. They were devoted Catholics and gave back to the most vulnerable in their communities and churches. They fostered children for over ten years, worked to help migrant workers gain access to social services, and helped educate youth in correctional facilities. In the 1980s they co-hosted a bilingual Catholic radio program in Racine County, La Voz del Pueblo (Voice of the People), for over twelve years.
Felicita was a beautiful self-taught singer, and the Ave Maria is where her voice shone the brightest. With her husband on the guitar the two were often asked to perform at church and community events in addition to special and impromptu singing for their families. Felicita had a wonderful sense of humor and never backed down from a challenge. At 52 years old she earned her GED from Fox Tech High School in San Antonio, Texas.
We will remember Felicita as a force. She was courageous, opinionated, and always full of God's love, which she shared enthusiastically with all whom she met.
We would like to thank the outstanding care Felicita received from the Oak Park Assisted Living Facility over the past four years. The staff were never quite sure what to expect from "grandma" but always came together to provide her with the best care possible. And we are especially grateful to Felicita's favorite nursing assistant and granddaughter, Jossalyn Pennington. We all rested easier knowing such a skilled and compassionate person was caring for our mom and "Grandma Mush." Thank you, Joss.
Funeral Services for Felicita will take place at 6pm on Wednesday June 5, 2024 at Schuette-Daniels Funeral Home. Relatives and friends can visit with the family on Wednesday June 5th at the funeral home from 4pm until time of service at 6pm. A private burial will take place in Burlington Cemetery.

Tia lulu our memories of you and my caring beautiful uncle will always be in our hearts forever. Believe it or not when our dad Vivian Ramon Medina would say you were in town we all were excited to see you and Tio. We all had the most beautiful moments together as a family with much love to give. It was party time. The last of the mohicans, dance together as you all did. The best uncles and aunts we had. Now we are here to continue our tradition that was taught by the best. Rest in peace .
