Franklin “Frank” Roberts

MT. PLEASANT - Franklin “Frank” Roberts, 81, passed away at Ridgewood Care Center on Saturday, August 29, 2015. He was born in Racine on July 14, 1934, son of the late Alfonse and Genevieve (Van Bree) Roberts. Frank attended Park High School, and then served with pride in the US Army. On February 2, 1956 he was married in St. Rose Catholic Church to Rose Marie Poritz. Frank was employed at Dumore Manufacturing for 36 years until he retired in 1992 He was well respected among his co-workers for his work ethic and leadership role as the union steward. He had a passion for discussing politics and loved children. Frank was devoted family man that was in love with wife, and was very proud of each of his children and grandchildren. He was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church. Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of nearly 60 years, Rosemarie Roberts of Mt. Pleasant; and their children, Richard (Mary) Roberts of Rosemount, Minnesota, Bill Roberts, and Rebecca Roberts both of Racine; grandchildren. Marah Roberts, Abigail Roberts Ava Grace Roberts all of Racine, and 20 adopted grandchildren in Minnesota; one great-granddaughter; brothers Bill (Mary) Roberts of Lake Havasu, Arizona, and Jerome Roberts of Leesburg, Florida; sister-in-law Kitty Roberts of Racine; as well as many other relatives and friends. He was also preceded in death by his daughter Teri Roberts; brothers Eugene Roberts and James Roberts; and sisters Marcelyn (and James) Hampshire and Marilyn McHargue. A funeral mass will be held at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 3, 2015 with Rev. Terry Huebner officiating.
