Gregory Stark Obituary

RACINE - Gregory Thomas Stark, 42, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, April 4, 2007, in Madison, while at a Wisconsin State CAP Conference representing UAW Local 72. He was born in Kenosha on October 13, 1964, to Gary and Gloria (nee: Kralicek) Stark. Gregg graduated from Washington Park High School "Class of 1982," where he competed in wrestling as a proud Panther, but surrendered his love to a Horlick High School graduate, Denise Dupuis. They married on September 24, 1988, at Bethania Lutheran Church. Gregg was hired in 1987 at AMC as a Pipe Fitter Apprentice. In 1989, he was hired by Kaelber Plumbing, where he completed his Plumber Apprenticeship. During this time, he was elected to the Local 118 (Plumber's Union) Executive Board and served on the Apprenticeship Committee. Gregg returned to Chrysler in 1996, where he worked as a Pipe Fitter and served on numerous committees until his passing. Gregg was a proud member of Local 72 and was elected Vice-President of the Local in the Summer of 2006. In 2007, he was elected Trustee to Kenosha AFL-CIO Labor Council. In 1999, he was invited to join the Village of Caledonia Parks and Recreation Department and became the Commission Liaison for Crawford Park (part of the FOCUS group that initiated that project) and also became the Chairman of the Caledonia-Mount Pleasant Joint Park Commission as well. Gregg enjoyed coaching youth baseball and football for his sons for many years, was an avid hunter, and enjoyed spending time at the family cabin in Park Falls. He also enjoyed camping with his family and was a die-hard Detroit Lions fan and never gave up hope that "this was going be our year." Most of all, he was a loving, proud, and devoted husband and father. Gregg is survived by his wife, Denise; and their three sons, Nicholas, Matthew, and Thomas; his parents, Gary and Gloria; brothers, Glenn and Gerald (Trisha); grandmother Gloria Kralicek; mother-in-law, Florence Dupuis; and brothers-in-law, William (Cindy), Michael (Heidi), and Scott (Karen) Dupuis. Gregg is further survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and many friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Robert and Elizabeth Stark and Jerome 'Grumpy' Kralicek; and father-in-law, Richard Dupuis. Memorial services will be held at St. Andrew Lutheran Church, 1015 Four Mile Road, on Monday, April 9, 2007, at 12 noon with Rev. Carol Baumgartner officiating. Private burial will take place at a later date. There will be a visitation at the church on Monday from 9 a.m. until time of service at 12 noon. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been set up for his sons at Bank of Elmwood. Denise and the boys would like to thank all their family and friends for their love, support, and prayers during this very sad time. HANSON FUNERAL HOME 3014 Northwestern Avenue 632-447

When I met Greg prior to him marrying Denise he instantly became my third brother. When I was home on leave from the Navy we would go fishing, bowling or carousing into the night.
I went up to Racine this past March and my son David had a blast talking sports with his Uncle. Greg said, "The Lions are going to the Superbowl, until week four." I never cared about how the Lions did until I met Greg and saw his unwavering support. I guess there was a small part of me that wanted to see them do well for Greg's sake. Since Greg's cessation, that slice has swelled.
Denise, I'm unable to express myself adequately on how saddened this made me. I understand the more someone is loved the harder it is to see them leave, this is tough.
Nicholas, Matthew and Thomas, continue doing the things that would make your Dad proud, because of all the things he could be doing, I think he would be the happiest looking down and watching you grow up and live your lives.

Denise, Nick, Matt and Thomas,
We are so sorry to hear about the loss of your husband and father. You are all in our thoughts and prayers. A fellow classmate from St. John Nepomuk (class of '76)emailed that your husband passed away in case we did not know it. I never knew you went to St. John's - I only knew you from St. Andrews. It is truly a small world. If there is anything I can do for you, please feel free to contact me.

Denise,

Tom called me yesterday to tell me about Gregg. This is the first time I felt bad about not being in Wisconsin. I will be thinking and praying for all of you. Your family has a very special place in my heart and I wish that I could physically be there for you, especially after all that the five of you did for me.

I am sure that my parents are welcoming Gregg.
