Hazel Travis Obituary

RACINE - Hazel E. (nee: Haack) Travis, 89, passed away Sunday, August 8, 2004, at St. Mary's Medical Center. Hazel was born in Racine July 19, 1915, daughter of the late Edward and Florence (nee: Glen) Haack and had been a lifelong resident. On May 17, 1941, in Dubuque, Iowa, Hazel was united in marriage to Glenn E. Travis, who preceded her in death July 29, 1999. In her younger years, Hazel and Glenn worked the family farm for 35 years. She was a member of Christ Church United Methodist. She enjoyed fishing, cooking, and playing cards. Most importantly, Hazel was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother and will be dearly missed. Survivors include her two sons, Darrell (Norine) Travis of Oak Creek, Howard Travis (Rose Wiatrowski) of Racine; five grandchildren, Darren (Dawn) Travis, Darrek (Kristi) Travis, Todd Travis, Tracy (Steven) Kral, Megan Wunsch; five great-grandchildren, Nathan and Britani Travis, Maggie Kral, and Jesse and Andi Steinmetz; sister, Ruth (Fred) Litzkow of Union Grove; sisters-in-law, Arleine (Glen) Moulin, Lavonne Bodwin, all of Costa Mesa, Calif.; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and dear friends. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home Thursday, August 12, 2004, 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the funeral home Wednesday from 5 until 7 p.m. and Thursday from 10 a.m. until time of services.
