Judy Schweitzer Obituary
July 24, 1945 - November 7, 2025
RACINE - Judy K. Schweitzer, 80, passed away on Friday, November 7, 2025 at Shorelight at Siena.
She was born in Racine on July 24, 1945 to the late Lawrence O. and Emily H. (nee: Meyer) Adel.
Judy was a 1963 graduate of Racine Lutheran High School and earned her Bachelor's Degree from UW-Milwaukee and her Master's Degree from Cardinal Stritch.
On April 27, 1968 Judy married John Schweitzer at St. Patrick's Parish. Sadly, he preceded her in death on August 10, 2022.
Judy was a dedicated teacher for the RUSD until her retirement in 2000.
She was an avid reader and a talented paper crafter. Judy enjoyed traveling, gardening and playing Mah Jongg.
She is survived by her sons, Scott (Diane) Schweitzer and Gregg (Nicole) Schweitzer; her grandsons, Michael and Daniel Schweitzer; and her siblings, Jean Adel, J. Curt Adel and Rodney (Sharon) Adel.
A visitation for Judy will be held on Thursday, November 13, 2025 from 4 until 6:00 p.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church, 1501 Erie Street, Racine and again on Friday, November 14, 2025 from 11:30 a.m. until the time of service at 12:30 p.m. at the church. Interment will follow in West Lawn Memorial Park.

I first met Judy while working at Wadewitz and later reconnected after retirement. We both loved paper crafting and so often she shared her skills and creativity with me and others in a monthly card making class. Her smile and sense of humor added to the fun. Time with her was such a gift!
