Kai Andersen Obituary

RACINE - Kai Andersen, 69, passed away at Froedtert Memorial Lutheran Hospital, Milwaukee on Wednesday, September 28, 2011. Kai was born in Svendborg, Denmark on December 16, 1941 the son of the late Otto and Elinor (nee: Hvenegaard) Andersen. He was united in marriage to Sandra Jensen on November 28, 1964 in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. Kai served in the Kings Guard/Danish Army in Copenhagen after graduation from high school. He was employed in the construction business his entire working career, with Dykstra Excavating, Korndoerfer, and most recently retiring from Riley Construction Company. Kai enjoyed his yearly vacations to Las Vegas, dancing, playing cards with family and friends, working in his yard and spending time with his canine companion, "Sammie". Kai is survived by his wife of 46 years, Sandra; children, Danny (Jennifer) Andersen and Laura (Jerry) Boehm all of Racine; two grandsons, Adam and Glenn. He is further survived by one sister, Lene Jensen of Denmark, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends in Racine and Denmark. Kai was preceded in death by one brother, Jan. In keeping with the wishes of Kai's family, private services have been held. Those wishing to remember Kai in a special way may send memorials to their favorite charity. The Andersen family would like to extend a very special thank you to the Doctors, nurses and staff at the M.I. Sandy, and family, I'm so sorry for your lost. We will miss him a lot.He was lot of fun to play yahoo card game. At less thats what i called ,Kai was the best at it. And we will miss that loveing remarks he would make. We sure had some laughs.Some days my side would hurt from him makeing me laught so much.
