Lee Sucharda Obituary

Lee Everett Sucharda Jr., 86, died Sunday, October 19, 2025, at his home in Savannah with his family by his side.

Lee was born on September 21, 1939, in Racine, WI to Lee Everett Sucharda Sr. and Dorothy Sucharda (Peterson). Lee's favorite childhood memories were of the time he spent on his grandparents' farm in WI. It was there he developed his love of the outdoors. He enjoyed fishing on the lake, wading in a stream, manning a tip-up on the ice, stalking a deer, bagging a grouse or pheasant, demolishing a clay pigeon, skiing on the slopes or through the woods, and sinking putts. The cabins he had in northern Wisconsin allowed him to share these experiences with his family and friends.

The most important place for Lee, however, was being next to Gail (Kost). Lee and Gail were married for over 65 years! Together, they were wonderful parents, grandparents, great-grandparents, friends and neighbors.

Lee graduated from the American Academy of Art in Chicago and went on to start and grow a successful Design Firm in Racine, WI. He also started an auction business, a country store and an advertising agency. Four generations of family members worked in his businesses!

In 2020, Lee and Gail moved from Racine, WI to Savannah, GA. In Savannah, Lee continued to golf, bocce, fish and stayed active in the community through Kiwanis, Skidaway Island Baptist Church and The Landings Golf and Athletic Club.

Lee is survived by his wife, Gail, son, Lee (Loni) Sucharda III, daughter, Jennifer Sucharda; four grandchildren, Paulina (Lennon) Te Ronde, Alec Sucharda, Gabriella Orth, and Jonathan Orth; and two great-grandchildren, Payton Te Ronde and Declan Te Ronde. They will miss Lee's presence in their lives and will forever remember his stories and Jokes.

Funeral Service will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, November 1, 2025 at Skidaway Island Baptist Church, 2 W Ridge Rd., Savannah, GA 31411. A reception will follow at The Sunset Pavillion, 1 Marina Dr., Savannah, GA 31411 from 5 p.m.until 9 p.m.

Flowers may be sent to Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, 7200 Hodgson Memorial Dr., Savannah, GA 31406.

What a terrific guy, we have such fond memories of evenings out together having dinner with him and Gail. We spent great times sharing conversations about almost any subject. Lee will be seriously missed by everyone who knew him and spent time with him. We will certainly miss his humor and his ability to make friends with everyone.
Please accept our sincerest sympathy for the loss of such a wonderful man.
