Radojica Minic

PHOENIX, ARIZ. - Radojica Minic passed away on Monday, May 5, 2008. Born on March 14, 1939, in the village of Jablanovo, outside of Bijelo Polje, Montenegro. He immigrated to America with the intention of creating a better life and opportunity for his family. One year later, he returned to Montenegro to marry the woman he would raise a family and spend the rest of his life with. Through tough beginnings, a language barrier, and a blue collar mentality together they were able to raise and educate two sons they could be proud of. On May 5, 2008, we lost a husband, father, grandfather, and best friend to a three year long battle with Leukemia. He was blessed to have the opportunity to see all his family members in Montenegro, his granddaughter's first birthday, and his youngest son married all when his initial prognosis was that he had six months to live. He touched so many lives in so many different ways and was an inspiration to us all. He is survived by his wife, Radmila; sons, Zeljko and Milos; daughters-in-law, Jamie and Ivana; granddaughter, Adriana; brothers, Vladimir, Petko, and Velibor; sisters, Mila and Rosa and their families. The services will be held on Tuesday, May 13, 2008, at the Whitney and Murphy Funeral Home, 4800 E. Indian School Road, Phoenix. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. with the service beginning at 7 p.m. His final wish was to go back home. Arrangements have been to have him sent back to Bijelo Polje, where his final resting place and the church service will be held in honor of his last wish.
