With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Robert Matthew Hesse Jr., a beloved husband, father, and grandfather, who departed this world peacefully on March 17, 2026, at the age of 73. Born on January 15, 1953, in Chicago, Illinois, Robert thrived in the vibrant atmosphere of the Midwest, eventually finding his home in Racine, Wisconsin, where he nurtured a rich and fulfilling life alongside his cherished family.

Robert dedicated his professional life to the field of food processing equipment sales, crafting lasting relationships with both colleagues and clients at G&H/Tri-Clover/Alfa Laval, Midwest Stainless Process Systems/Stainless Technologies, and W.M. Sprinkman where he served with integrity until his well-deserved retirement. His career was not just a job; it was a testament to his engaging spirit and unwavering commitment, qualities that defined him in all aspects of his life.

Beyond his professional achievements, Robert was an adventurer at heart. He and his beloved wife, Nancy, embarked on countless journeys together, exploring the enchanting landscapes of Europe, the United States, and enjoying the open road on trips to Florida. Their treasured cabin in Barnes served as a backdrop for family gatherings, laughter, and countless memories that will echo in the hearts of all who knew him. Robert also enjoyed bowling, competing in various leagues over the years. He was also an avid golfer, particularly cherishing outings with his father, and loved to shoot pool. His legacy will continue to inspire and comfort his family, who will carry forward the love and kindness he so generously shared.

Robert leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife of over 25 years, Nancy Hesse; children, Trisia (Mike) Tresider and Rob (Gretchen) Hesse; step-daughter, Kimberly (Casey) Rouse; grandchildren, Courtney (Nate), Cameron (Erin), Gavin, Reese, Robert, Alexandria, CJ (Caley), Emily, Kyah, and Isaac; as well as nieces, nephews and dear friends too numerous to mention. Robert was preceded in death by his father and mother, Robert Sr. and Charlotte Hesse; his step-mother, Betty Hesse; his brother, Jack Hesse and sister-in-law Nancy Hesse; and his sister, Sandy Hess and brother-in-law, Bruce Hess.

Robert's unwavering spirit and zest for life will be celebrated at a funeral service on Monday, March 30, 2026, 11 a.m., at Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home and Crematory, 4600 County Line Road. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will follow at Graceland Cemetery. The family invites all those whose lives he touched to pay their respects and share in the joyful remembrance of a life well-lived.

As we reflect on Robert's journey, we are filled with gratitude for the warmth he brought into our lives and the lessons he imparted through his love and kindness. He will be profoundly missed but fondly remembered, living on in the hearts of those he cherished most. May he rest in peace.
