Robert Savin Obituary

RACINE - Dr. Robert Burton Savin, 84, our beloved patriarch, passed away Tuesday, November 7, 2006, at St. Mary's Medical Center. Dr. Savin was born in Madison November 2, 1922, son of the late Leon and Faye (nee: Crown) Savin. On January 1, 1944, he was united in marriage to Jeanne L. Schwartz. During World War II, he served in the United States Army providing eye care. Upon returning home from the war, he devoted himself to his eye care practice, Vision Clinic - Dr. Savin and Associates, for 60 years, proudly working with his son, Dr. Bruce Savin. Dr. Savin was an avid tennis player, who built the indoor tennis clubs in both Racine and Kenosha. He was a loving and adoring husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, who will be dearly missed. Survivors include his wife, Jeanne; his daughter, Marilyn (Robert) Miller of Florida; his son, Dr. Bruce (Dale) Savin of Racine; his grandchildren, Scott (Maxine) Miller, Beth (Brian) Gottlieb, Adam Savin, all of Chicago, Ill., Arielle Caron of California, Marc Caron of Milwaukee; his three great-grandchildren, Bradley, Lauren, and Jason Gottlieb; other relatives and many dear friends. Funeral services with interment will be held at the Racine Jewish Cemetery, corner of Lathrop and Graceland, Friday, November 10, 2006, 11 a.m. with Rabbi Martyn Adelberg officiating. I only knew Dr.Savin for a couple of months but the way he and his family embraced me I will never forget I use to sit and talk to him he encouraged me to accomplish my goals, he showed me how a person that wants something never gives up Thank you Dr.Savin. To Marilyn and Bruce I know the pain that comes with losing your father it may seem so hard but because your all so close that will help alot. If you need to cry go ahead let it out. Thank you for embracing me as well. To Mrs.Savin my heart and prayers are with you be strong, thank you for embracing me as well. I will keep you all in my prayers.
