Ruth Holzwarth Obituary
Ruth Claire Holzwarth passed away peacefully at the age of 95 (almost 96) on November 12, 2025, after a recent battle with illness. Ruth is survived by her beloved husband, Karl Holzwarth; her four daughters, Nancy Milholland, Sally (Milholland) Woiteshek, Jean Milholland, Susan (Milholland) Kuntzendorf (and husband Don); her two granddaughters, Rhiannon (Miller) Murillo (and husband Jorge) and Dana Woiteshek; her sister, Marilyn Abraham; her brother, Harold (Hal) Abraham (and wife Karen); her two nieces, Laurie Abraham and Shelley Abraham (and husband Scott); and her beloved dog, Luci.
Ruth was born in Cincinnati, Ohio, on February 5, 1930, to Clara (Bidlingmeyer) Abraham and Walter Abraham. She then lived a large part of her life in Racine, Wisc., where she raised her four daughters. She was president of the PTA in Racine. Ruth and Karl married in 1982 and they moved to Silver City, N.M., in 2000 where they were active in the church and golf communities.
Ruth loved to golf and was a member of the Ives Grove Women's Golf League in Racine, Wisc., and worked as the office manager of H&H Fairway Enterprises which was the company Karl and his partner operated. She won a May Ace Day golf award from the Silver City Ladies Golf Association at Silver City Golf Links. She was as feisty as she was loving. No matter how hard things got, she was always there to remind you that you are special. She enjoyed camping, hiking, playing bridge, playing racquetball, and especially reading. Ruth was frequently referred to as a Social Butterfly who coincidentally loved butterflies. She really enjoyed singing and sang in the church choir at Copper Ridge Fellowship Church any chance she had; Ruth was still singing at age 95.
Services will be held Saturday, November 29, 2025, at the Copper Ridge Fellowship Church in Silver City, N.M., at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, please donate to your favorite church or charity.
