Susan D. Henken, age 77, passed away Sunday, February 2, 2025, at Oak Ridge Care Center. Susan was born in Racine, April 23, 1947, daughter of the late Charles and Frances (Nee: Blaha) Culverhouse.
Susan was employed as an interpreter for the deaf at Racine Unified School District, Mitchell Elementary School, for 32 years until her retirement in 2010. Susan was a voracious reader and enjoyed quilting and sewing.
She was loved dearly and will be sadly missed by her son, Craig (Kara) Henken; daughter, Chris Henken; grandchildren: Damien Henken, Christian, Colin and Carter Henken; brother, Jeffrey P. Culver; sister, Janet Cunningham; other relatives and many dear friends.
A Memorial Service celebrating Susan's life will be held at the funeral home, 11 a.m., Thursday, February 13, 2025. Relatives and friends are welcome to meet with the family for Visitation on Thursday, 10 a.m., until time of service at the funeral home. Private entombment will be held at Graceland Cemetery. Memorials to the Racine Public Library have been suggested by the family.
The family would like to extend a very special thank you to the staffs at Oak Ridge Care Center and Hospice Alliance for their loving and compassionate care.

I always thought about Sue since I was little. She´s one of my favorite interpreters at school. I will miss her a lot.
