Susan Lea Mattson
May 30, 1953 – August 7, 2024
RACINE - Susan "Sue" Mattson, age 71, passed away at home, surrounded by her loving family, on Wednesday, August 7, 2024.
Sue was born in Fond du Lac, WI on May 30, 1953. She graduated from Park High School in 1971. She spent years as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) and always knew how to individualize each resident's care based on their needs. Among her interests, Sue was an excellent seamstress; she was very crafty, and her handmade Christmas Stockings were always so impressive. Her wittiness and great sense of humor always made people laugh. If you knew Sue, her motto was "Git-R-Done". We were all inspired by the strong independent woman she was, especially with everything she went through. She is a super hero!
Surviving are her mother, Delores Dale; children: Tasya (Brian) Exner, Shawn (Joel) Mikulecky, Tiffany (Tim) Zirbel and Gary (Lori) Exner, Jr.; grandchildren: Taylor, Kaila, Miranda, Hunter, Sydnee, Skyler, Austin, Raelyn and Olivia; six great-grandchildren; sister, Sherri (Jim) Johnson; brothers: Butch (Sonya) Mielke and Bill Mielke; her dog, Lillie and bird, Duffy.
Sue was preceded in death by her husband, Gregory Mattson; grandmother, Clara Betry and grandfather, Rodney Betry.
Private arrangements for Sue have been made. Those who wish to express sympathy, please consider making a donation in memory of Sue to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

We are deeply saddened by the loss of Sue and wish to share our sincere condolences. One of my favorite memories of Sue was watching her sew Halloween costumes. The love she showed through her sewing was endearing. Forever she will be missed, but memories will live on in our hearts.
