KENNEBUNK - Otis "Bud" L. Randall Jr., 84, of Kennebunk, passed away on Dec. 29, 2015, at home after a battle with cancer.
He was born on Aug. 12, 1931, in Cherryfield, to the late Mary and Otis L. Randall Sr. He was raised in Old Orchard Beach. He joined the U.S. Army and fought in the Korean War as a corporal from 1950-1953. Bud was an avid outdoorsman, loving to fish and hunt with his family.
Bud married Laura Hussey in 1953, and raised four children in Arundel. He operated several Sunoco stations in York County. He worked and retired from Morningstar (Corning) of Kennebunk and also worked and retired from Bath Iron Works in Bath. Bud was a talented craftsman, making handmade crafts, and loved to cook – seafood chowder was a family favorite.
He is survived by: his sister, Madeline McMahon of Brunswick and Clearwater, Florida; his four children, Barbara and her husband Michael Nason of East Waterboro, Betty and her husband Carl Danis of Arundel, William and his wife Katie of Saco, and Bruce and his wife Annie of Lyman; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours will be held from 10 a.m. to noon at Bibber Memorial Chapel, 67 Summer St., Kennebunk, on Saturday, Jan. 2, 2016, where a funeral service will follow at noon. Interment will follow at Laurel Hill Cemetery in Saco.
Memorial donations may be made in his name to: Travis Mills Foundation, 89 Water St., Hallowell, ME 04347, which is a nonprofit foundation restoring the Elizabeth Arden estate, in Rome and Mt. Vernon, Maine, to provide a retreat for wounded veterans and their families.
